From CNN.com today:

President Bush on Wednesday defended an Afghan Christian who is on trial for rejecting Islam and who could eventually face the death penalty.

"It is deeply troubling that a country we helped liberate would hold a person to account because they chose a particular religion over another," Bush said during a speaking engagement in Wheeling, West Virginia.

The hypocrisy here is staggering. Looks like Prez Chimpy has never heard of Guantanamo Bay.

Yet another obvious display of the stupidity of the Shrub. A few years back he said that since he didn't believe in Wicca, that it shouldn't be considered a real relegion.. Gah, Well, I didn't vote for him, thankfully.

Yeah, he is a big hyprocite. Before speaking of other countries, he should look at his own.

Granted, the US doesn't put people to death because they don't believe in Christianity... but the way things are being run, Christianity in the States is being 'rammed' down people's throat. *shakes his head*

But I will agree with Bush on this point alone. It is very harsh of Afghan to put people to death because they don't want to follow Islam.

I believe in the respect of all religions, beliefs and faiths out there, but I also expect those religions to respect other religions as well. When a certain religion starts to force their beliefs on other religions and people, I start to lose respect for it. That is weither Christian or Islam.

And this surprises you how?

See, in Bush-world, we liberated Afghanistan. In the reality-based world, we overthrew the Taliban then--without ensuring the Afghanis were stable on their own--bolted off to war in Iraq, leaving sufficient vacuum for at least some of the Taliban or their sympathizers to take power.

Needless to say, reality has never had anything to do with Dumb-ya's world view.
